Perpetuum Mobile by Penguin Cafe Orchestra - solo guitar arrangement

€4.00

Important notes:

  • the whole arrangement is pretty loose. I usually follow this structure: intro, twice around the theme-octave-chord section, into the counterpoint and variations, straight back into the held chord section, then anding on 8 repeats of the counterpoint with a crescendo. This is shorter than the original, as it’s quite repetitive, I feel like it should be shortened when played solo

  • This version is based on the 2019 YouTube video. I’ve since changed how I play it (I now use a chordinero, which allows me to play the arrangement without having to detune the G string). I really don’t like how the section that goes to the V chord was performed, so I’ve changed the fingering without changing any of the voicing.

  • Because there’s no convention on tablature for cut capo arrangement, I’ve written the open strings as 0, but strings A, D and G don’t have a 1st and 2nd fret, it goes straight from 0 to 3. I hope this makes sense, please let me know your thoughts.
